Hi guys. A fun idea to get your students to construct the sentences. Through game it is.
For this particular lesson, I choose card game.
HOW TO PLAY
- Students sit in groups.
- Teacher distributes the card game set.
- Each group will have 1 SET of Days of the Week Cards, 1 SET of Free Time Activities Cards & 1 answer sheet. Each member will have 1 worksheet which is the form to write the sentences ).
- One of the group members shuffle the cards.
- One person picks 1 card from the Days of the Week Card Set & 1 card from the Free Time Activities Card Set.
- Then, he/she will write a sentence based on picked cards using the sentence structure stated in the worksheet :
On (day), I (activity).
For eg: On Monday, I ride bike.
- Other group members will check the answer. They can refer to the answer sheet for guidance. They will correct the mistakes if any.
- 10 marks will be given for each correct sentence.
- They will take turn to pick the cards and write the sentences until the teacher says stop.
- Students with the highest mark will be the winner.
